Drake Milligan at Two Step Inn Festival: Review

Drake Milligan, a rising star in the country music scene, delivered a performance at the 2024 Two Step Inn festival that was nothing short of electrifying. Born on June 1, 1998, in Arlington, Texas, Milligan’s journey into music was inspired by the country sounds his father adored and an Elvis impersonator he saw as a child. His career took a significant turn when he portrayed Elvis Presley in the CMT series “Sun Records” and starred in the film “Nobody,” where he played a young Elvis. His genre, a blend of classic country with the swagger of early rock ‘n’ roll, has been embraced by fans and critics alike, earning him a spot on shows like “America’s Got Talent” where he finished in third place.

Milligan’s hit music includes chart-toppers like “Sounds Like Something I’d Do” and “Honky Tonkin’ About,” which became his first number one on the Canadian country chart. His music videos, such as “Sounds Like Something I’d Do,” have garnered millions of views, showcasing his ability to connect with audiences through his artistry.

His film and TV credits are as impressive as his musical achievements, with notable roles in “Sun Records” and a music video for “Honky Tonkin’ About” with The Reklaws.

The band members, who share Milligan’s vision and complement his performances, include Nashville-based drummer Kramer Sell, his brother Clayton Sell, and guitarist Ryan DeMers, who have all contributed to the unique sound that Milligan is known for.

Drake Milligan’s performance at the Two Step Inn festival was a highlight to his talent and dedication to country music. After his set, he walked on over to another stage to pay tribute to Keith Whitley Forever, by performing with Jesse Keith Whitley and Ernest.
