All American Rejects: The Emo Revival

By on March 6, 2025

At 5:00 PM on Right Field, All American Rejects took the stage, their boyish charm intact after two decades. Hailing from Stillwater, Oklahoma, Tyson Ritter and crew burst onto the scene with their 2002 self-titled album, propelled by “Swing, Swing.” They’re famous for “Gives You Hell,” a 2008 breakup banger that still packs a punch.

Tyson’s lanky frame loomed as they launched into “Dirty Little Secret,” the crowd screaming every word. “Swing, Swing” brought a wave of early-2000s nostalgia, and “Gives You Hell” was a cathartic roar under the twilight sky. Their hour-long set was a time capsule, proving emo never really dies—it just gets louder.
