Lord Huron Delivers Cinematic Indie Folk Magic at Innings Festival 2026

By on March 12, 2026

Under the Arizona evening sky at Tempe Beach Park, Lord Huron created a world all their own during their 7:55 p.m. set on the Right Field Stage. With Ben Schneider’s warm, storytelling vocals floating over reverb-drenched guitars and atmospheric percussion, the band’s sound feels like the soundtrack to an epic road trip through misty forests and forgotten towns — a rare quality that sets them apart in today’s music scene, where their wistful indie folk-rock blend feels both intimate and vast. The stage setup was compelling, and the well dressed performers were well received.

Formed in 2010 in Los Angeles as a solo project by Michigan-born Ben Schneider, Lord Huron quickly grew into a full band drawing inspiration from the Great Lakes and old adventure tales. Schneider, who studied visual arts before turning to music, recruited childhood friends from Michigan, giving the group a deep-rooted sense of place. The band has been active for 16 years, releasing acclaimed albums like Lonesome Dreams (2012), Strange Trails (2015), Vide Noir (2018), Long Lost (2021), and the recent The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1 (2025).

Signature songs include the haunting “The Night We Met” (which went viral after appearing on the 13 Reasons Why soundtrack), “Ends of the Earth,” “Meet Me in the Woods,” and “La Belle Fleur Sauvage.” Known for thematic, cinematic storytelling and festival appearances across the country, Lord Huron builds devoted followings with live shows that feel like stepping into a beautifully shot film. There have been no substantial lineup changes in the past few years — the core remains steady and collaborative.
