Marcy Playground at Innings Festival Day 1
Fan favorites, Marcy Playground brought their signature blend of melodic alternative rock and introspective storytelling to the Innings Festival on Friday, February 20, 2026. Starting at 2:30 p.m. on the Home Plate Stage at Tempe Beach Park, the veteran trio stood out with their warm, hook-filled songs that feel both nostalgic and freshly engaging, reminding fans why thoughtful, guitar-driven music continues to resonate in today’s indie and alternative scene.

Band Background
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Marcy Playground formed in New York City and has been active since 1994. The band is best known for their 1997 platinum-selling self-titled debut album and its massive hit single. Their sound mixes alternative rock with quirky, personal lyrics that have earned them a loyal following over three decades.

The band members are:
- John “Woz” Wozniak – guitar and lead vocals
- Dylan Keefe – bass and backing vocals
- Shlomi Lavie – drums and backing vocals
Signature songs include “Sex and Candy,” “Saint Joe on the School Bus,” and “Sherry Fraser.” The group has appeared at numerous festivals over the years, with their Innings Festival set serving as a highlight for longtime fans and new listeners alike, and I was happy to finally see them live.
