Train Delivers a Memorable Night at Ruoff Music Center
On July 10, 2024, Train brought their signature sound to the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, IN, delivering a performance that left fans buzzing. The band, known for their blend of rock and pop, showcased their musical prowess with a setlist that spanned their career.

Train, formed in 1993 in San Francisco, has been a staple in the music industry for over two decades. The band consists of Pat Monahan (lead vocals), Taylor Locke (guitar, vocals), but tonight, Joe Keery (who played Steve in the hit series “Stranger Things” was on guitar. Hector Maldonado (bass, vocals), Jerry Becker (keyboards, guitar), and Matt Musty on (drums) filled out the band . They gained mainstream success with hits like “Meet Virginia” and “Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me),” the latter earning them two Grammy Awards in 2002. Other notable tracks include “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Drive By,” and “Calling All Angels” .
Train’s music has also made its way into film and television. Their song “Ordinary” was featured in the movie :Spider-Man 2″ and the NBC series “Heroes” . Pat Monahan, the lead singer of the band Train, and Kim Kardashian both appeared in an episode of the TV series “CSI: NY” titled “Second Chances”
The concert kicked off with “Calling All Angels,” setting a high-energy tone for the night. Fans were treated to a mix of old favorites and newer tracks, including “If It’s Love” and “Get To Me.” The band’s performance of “Meet Virginia” seamlessly transitioned into a cover of Steve Miller’s “The Joker,” showcasing their versatility.
One of the highlights was “Angel in Blue Jeans,” which included a cover of Hozier’s “Too Sweet.” The acoustic rendition of “Marry Me” created an intimate moment, while “50 Ways to Say Goodbye” and “Hey, Soul Sister” had the crowd singing along and on their feet.
The night concluded with “Drops of Jupiter,” a fitting end to a memorable evening. Train’s ability to connect with their audience is really unmatched. Fans left with smiles, humming the tunes that have defined Train’s illustrious career.
