Mumford & Sons Headline Innings Festival Day 1 with Folk-Rock Anthems
Mumford & Sons delivered a stirring set of heartfelt folk-rock at the Innings Festival on Friday, February 20, 2026. Starting at 9:00 p.m. on the Home Plate Stage at Tempe Beach Park, the London trio brought their signature blend of stomping rhythms, soaring harmonies, and emotional storytelling—qualities that have kept their music feeling vital and communal even as the broader scene evolves. I had been waiting on this show all day. Today coincided with the newest album release,
Marcus made a small joke about Americans, especially at this festival, with many fans dressed in baseball uniforms, “Looks like you’re ready to go in, if needed.”

Band Background
Hailing from London, England, Mumford & Sons formed in 2007 and have been active for nearly two decades. The group first captured global attention with their energetic live shows and banjo-driven folk sound before evolving into a more expansive rock style.
The band members are:
- Marcus Mumford – lead vocals, guitar and drums
- Ben Lovett – keyboards and vocals
- Ted Dwane – bass and vocals

Signature songs include “Little Lion Man,” “Babel,” “I Will Wait,” “Awake My Soul,” and “The Cave.” The band has earned multiple Grammy Awards and headlined major festivals worldwide. Their Innings Festival appearance coincided with the release day of their new album Prizefighter. Their new hit song “Rubber Band Man” was also well received.
