Grace Bowers and The Hodge Podge: The Teenage Tornado
At 2:00 PM, the Home Plate Stage welcomed Grace Bowers and The Hodge Podge, led by 18-year-old guitar prodigy Grace Bowers. Raised in Nashville after a childhood in San Francisco, Grace’s blues-rock chops—honed on a Gibson Les Paul—have drawn comparisons to Santana and Hendrix. She’s famous for “Wine on Venus,” the title track from her 2024 debut album, a funky, soul-drenched jam that’s turned heads worldwide. She’s also being promoted by the legendary Gary Clark Jr.

Grace strode out, her band tight as a coiled spring, and launched into “Won No Teg,” the crowd grooving to its slinky rhythm. Her fingers danced across the fretboard, unleashing a solo in “Wine on Venus” that felt like lightning splitting the sky.
Esther Okai-Tetteh’s vocals soared alongside, and for an hour, they turned Tempe into a psychedelic juke joint. It was a jaw-dropping display—a kid stealing the show with the swagger of a veteran.

Later in the afternoon, they did an impromptu session at the Jersey Mike’s booth.
Partial Setlist:
- “Won No Teg”
