Fat Evil Children open Innings Festival Day 1

By on March 4, 2026

Fat Evil Children offered a refreshing dose of melodic indie rock during their early afternoon set, which opened the Innings Festival on Friday, February 20, 2026. With their signature blend of breezy jangle and thoughtful lyrics, the Los Angeles quartet stood out as a bright spot in the opening day lineup at Tempe Beach Park, showing how honest, organic songcraft can connect with festival crowds in today’s indie music scene. I enjoyed the set, although I wasn’t familiar with the band at all.

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, Fat Evil Children have been active since early 2024, when the four-piece released their self-titled EP. They followed quickly with their debut full-length album, Fat Evil Dogs, Fat Evil Cats, Fat Evil Bears, Fat Evil Rats, earning attention for its melodic indie rock and breezy folk-leaning sound that feels made for summer listening, despite it not being summer.
