Congress The Band at Innings Festival Day 1
Dressed in baseball jerseys, Congress The Band delivered a warm and engaging set of breezy indie rock during the Innings Festival on Friday, February 20, 2026. Starting at 1:40 p.m. on the Right Field Stage at Tempe Beach Park, the Charleston quintet stood out with their groovy rhythms, soulful vocals, and easygoing stage presence, offering festival-goers a refreshing dose of heartfelt songcraft in today’s indie music scene. It was my first time to see these guys, and I was pleased.

Hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, Congress The Band formed in June 2023 on Congress Street. The five-piece quickly built a following through live shows across the Southeast and released their debut single “Out the Door” in 2024, followed by “Modern Lady.” Their sound blends indie rock with Americana and Southern roots influences for an anthemic yet approachable feel.

The band members are:
- William Bennett – vocals
- Thomas “Thos” Spratt – guitar
- Daniel Guy – guitar
- Robert Farmer – bass
- Jett Seawell – drums
Signature songs include “Out the Door,” “Modern Lady,” “Colorado,” and “Bay Street.” The group’s Innings Festival appearance marked their first show in Arizona and their furthest west to date.

A Friendly Recommendation
If you enjoy sincere indie rock performed with genuine warmth and tight musicianship, Congress The Band is worth catching at a future show or festival. Their concise early-afternoon set at Innings Festival captured the inviting spirit of their music and introduced many new listeners, including myself to the band.
