5 piece band, Mt. Joy will perform at ACL fest
If you’re looking for some indie folk rock vibes this October, you might want to check out Mt. Joy at the Moody Amphitheater on October 10. The band is one of the featured performers for the ACL Fest Nights, a series of concerts happening across Austin during the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Mt. Joy is a five-piece band that started as a project between childhood friends Matt Quinn and Sam Cooper in Philadelphia. They moved to Los Angeles and added Michael Byrnes, Sotiris Eliopoulos and Jackie Miclau to their lineup. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2018 and featured songs like “Silver Lining” and “Astrovan”. Their second album, “Rearrange Us”, came out in 2020 and showed their growth as songwriters and musicians.
The band is known for their catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics and energetic live shows. They have toured with bands like The Lumineers, The Head and the Heart and The Shins. They have also played at festivals like Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Newport Folk Festival. Their music has been featured on TV shows like This Is Us, Shameless and Lucifer.
