WHO: The four original members of Blues Traveler – John Popper, Chandler Kinchla, the late Bobby Sheehan and Brendan Hill – started the band in the basement of their drummer’s parents’ home in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1987. Over the course of 25 years, Blues Traveler has created 11 studio albums; four gold, three platinum and one, six-times platinum. The group has sold more than 10 million units worldwide, played more than 2,000 live shows and has earned a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group. The band’s movie credits include “Blues Brothers 2000,” “Kingpin” and “Wildflowers,” and television appearances include “Saturday Night Live,” “Austin City Limits” and “VH1’s Behind the Music.” Blues Traveler holds the record for the most appearances of any artist on the “Late Show with David Letterman.”
Their most recent release “Blow Up The Moon,” which continues to chart new musical directions, celebrates the 20th anniversary of their six-times platinum, award-winning and breakthrough album “Four.” A clever collaboration between various artists, the album sees the band keep an open-minded perspective on making music and enlists an eclectic mix of songwriters influenced by the band’s remarkable 25-year career. Being the first ever Blues Traveler collaboration project, the creative process led to new depths and energy allowing the band to expand their musical palette while holding the foundation of their distinct and explosive brand of rock. “Blow Up The Moon” features artists such as Thompson Square, Plain White T’s, 3OH!3, Dirty Heads and Rome Ramirez.
