Paul Shakked releases first single “Play On” from new album ‘Throwback’

Roy Shakked‘s original musical vision is refreshingly left-field on new single “Play On”, the lead single from upcoming full-length album “Throwback”, due for release August 2 via Groove Gravy Records. Joined by an ensemble of world class musicians, Roy has created an experimental Indie Alt Pop album that fans of Steely Dan, Beck, Spoon or David Bowie should enjoy.

Artist Biography: 
Roy’s music has been featured on dozens of television shows over the years, including Sex and The City, Nip/Tick, Beyblade, Teen Titans Go!, Independent Lens, CSI Miami, and Greenhouse Academy. He has written and produced music for multiple advertisements and trailers and has composed scores and contributed songs to a host of films.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music and active in the LA singer-songwriter scene for nearly two decades Roy has also released multiple original albums, often under different pen names including Holmes , The Bright Wild and The Tao of Groove  through his boutique music house, Groove Gravy Records, which opened its doors in 2001 and operates out of Los Angeles and Tel Aviv.

Roy’s music career has taken many turns over the years. Playing in bands since high school, he landed a video game composer gig in NYC after graduating college. His next job was a record label A&R manager in LA, which he followed up by starting his own label, releasing eclectic underground grooves produced by himself and a crew of Eastside friends.

Through the years, Roy’s music has been featured on dozens of TV shows. He has
composed scores and contributed songs to multiple films, and has written and produced
music for a host of advertisements & trailers. In the past decade, hungry to keep growing
musically, Roy started releasing more personal songs featuring his own vocals, often playing all instruments, under different pen names including Holmes (over 4 million music streams to date), and The Bright Wild
