Important Facts and Features of the 2017 ACL Festival
 
 
(Austin, TX – October 4, 2017)  The 2017 edition of Austin City Limits Music Festival takes place October 6-8 and October 13-15.  On both weekends, fans will see performances from JAY-Z, Martin Garrix, The xx, Ryan Adams, Solange, FOSTER THE PEOPLE, and more on Friday, while Saturday’s festivities include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chance The Rapper, ICE CUBE, Spoon, Tove Lo, A$AP Ferg and much more.  The Killers, Gorillaz, Run The Jewels, The Head and the Heart, Vance Joy, ZHU and Milky Chance will close out Sunday night on each weekend. With so much to see, hear and taste, here are the important logistics and tidbits to keep festival-goers in the know!
 
 
SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY:  The safety and security of ACL Festival attendees is our number one priority. For information on safety & security measures in place at Zilker Park, please visit aclfest.com/safety.
 
 
IN CASE OF EMERGENCY: ACL Festival is dedicated to keeping patrons safe. In the event of an emergency, safety messaging will come from the stage video screens, announcements from the loudspeakers, push notifications on the Official ACL Festival Mobile App, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and instructions from festival staff and security. Anyone in need of medical or security assistance throughout the weekend may approach any festival security or staff member for the appropriate support.
 
 
TICKETS:  General Admission 3-Day Tickets for Weekend Two are still available, while only General Admission 1-Day Tickets for Friday and Sunday are available for Weekend One and Two at www.aclfestival.com/tickets, or at the Pre-Festival or Festival Box Office during the hours listed below.  3-Day & 1-Day VIP Tickets, 3-Day & 1-Day Platinum Tickets, as well as Hotel Packages for both weekends are also available. Music fans ages 10 and under will be admitted free of charge accompanied by a ticketed adult.
  
PRE-FESTIVAL BOX OFFICE: The ACL Festival Box Office at the YETI Flagship Store (220 S Congress Ave.) will be open for will call pickup Wednesday-Thursday before each weekend, at the hours below.
    • WEEKEND ONE HOURS:
      Wednesday, 10/4: 2PM – 7PM
      Thursday, 10/5: 2PM – 7PM
    • WEEKEND TWO HOURS:
      Wednesday, 10/11: 2PM – 7PM
      Thursday, 10/12: 2PM – 7PM 

FESTIVAL BOX OFFICE: During festival days, the Box Office will be located at each entrance on Barton Springs Road (Barton Springs West and Barton Springs East entrances) and will be open for will call pick up at the hours below.
    • WEEKEND ONE & TWO HOURS:
      Friday 10/6 – Sunday 10/8: 10AM – 10PM
      Friday 10/13 – Sunday 10/15: 10AM – 10PM
 
GETTING TO ZILKER: The festival is pleased to once again provide fans complimentary Official Festival Shuttles from Republic Square Park in downtown Austin running from 10:30am to 11:00pm each day of the festival.
Alternatively, we encourage fans to take other eco-friendly transportation, including ridesharing, walking, and biking. Bike parking is provided near each entrance, just be sure to bring your own lock.  Mellow Johnny’s will also be on hand by bike parking for minor repairs and supplies you may have forgotten.
For fans catching a rideshare to the festival, we will have three designated pickup and drop-off areas just outside of ACL Fest – Drop off at Sterzing Street between Barton Springs and Toomey Road or drop off at Lee Barton Drive between Lamar Boulevard and Riverside Drive to enter from the Barton Springs East Entrance, or drop off at Veterans Drive (by Austin High) and take the Mopac footbridge to the Lady Bird Lake Entrance.
Need a ride? Use RideAustin, the official rideshare of ACL, they make rides affordable while doing good for the community. The pick-up/drop-off location is located on Veterans Drive (by Austin High), accessible from the festival by exiting the Lady Bird Lake entrance and taking the Mopac footbridge across to the tennis courts. New to RideAustin, download the app and enter promo code ACLFEST17 for $5 in credits. Limited supply available and valid only on ACL weekends.
Additionally, ACL Fest is working with our partners Honda and RideAustin to provide FREE Hail-A-Honda rides to ACL each day. ENTERING THE FESTIVAL: ACL Festival is committed to the safety and security of fans, artists, and staff in the park. ALL bags will be searched before entry.
For your safety, bag sizes will be limited to 18 L sized bags or smaller (roughly 1000 cubic inches or 10″ x 10″ x 10″). If you have to bring a bag, 

drawstring bags are ideal. Patrons should be prepared to have their bags searched each time they enter the festival and should plan for extra time to get through security. Patrons can speed things up by checking out the list of prohibited items on the information Page and avoid bringing any prohibited materials to the park. For faster entry, No Bag Express Lanes are located at each entrance for those not carrying a bag.

Whenever possible, patrons should avoid arriving during peak arrival hours from 3-5pm to ensure the quickest entry into the park.


Families can expedite entry into the festival using our Family Friendly Entrance to the right of the Barton Springs East Entrance, or the dedicated Family Friendly Lanes at each entrance. LOCKERS: Stash your stuff while you roam the park. Locker rentals are available inside the park right off Barton Springs Road. Need to ditch your chair? The chair check has you covered.  If your phone is low on juice, each locker comes with a universal cell phone charger inside, so you can recharge it there! Reserve your locker in advance here.
 
OFFICIAL MOBILE APP PRESENTED BY MILLER LITE: From brushing up on bands playing the Festival and creating the ideal Custom Schedule to mapping out Zilker Park in advance of the back-to-back Festival weekends, the app will answer all of those ACL Festival questions. Users are encouraged to opt-in for Push Notifications to receive important news and emergency information throughout the Festival. New this year, fans can filter ACL Eats restaurants by Vegetarian, Vegan, and Gluten Free options right in the mobile app.  Get the app at: www.aclfestival.com/app
 
ACL CASHLESS PRESENTED BY AMERICAN EXPRESS:  Cashless is back! Fans can use their wristbands to make on-site purchases including food, art, lockers, beverages and festival merchandise. After activating their wristbands at www.aclfestival.com/wristband patrons can securely connect a credit or debit card, and create a unique 4-digit pin to make safe, cashless transactions throughout the park. They can visit the ACL Cashless tent on-site for activation help.

 
CAMELBAK HYDRATION STATIONS: Patrons can bring two factory-sealed water bottles (up to 1 liter each) into ACL Festival each day. Patrons can also bring an empty refillable container or CamelBak and fill up at the free, triple-filtered CamelBak Hydration Stations.
 
FOOD: ACL Eats continues to feature fantastic local restaurants putting their spin on festival fare. Fan favorites such as The Mighty Cone, Torchy’s Tacos, The Peached Tortilla, Micklethwait Craft Meats and many more will be there to cure all your Festival cravings.

NEW THIS YEAR we’ll have even more ACL Eats locations around the park! Amy’s Ice Creams, Chi’Lantro BBQ, mmmpanadas, Southside Flying Pizza, Tinos Greek Café, and Wholly Cow Burgers will all have a second location in the newly expanded footprint south of Barton Springs Road. Central Market will also have a booth inside Austin Kiddie Limits offering box lunches and beverages.
 
BODEGAS: The Bodega is your one-stop shop to buy fresh fruit, snacks, and basic Festival necessities. Apple? Trail Mix? Sunscreen? Poncho? The Bodega has you covered. Visit them next to ACL Eats and next to Austin Kiddie Limits.
 
BARTON SPRINGS BEER HALL:  The Barton Springs Beer Hall is back, offering 17 special draughts in 30,000 square feet of space to cool off, listen to music and watch the biggest games of the weekends on big screen TV’s. 
 
ACL FEST WINE LOUNGE: Wine lovers will rejoice in the new ACL Fest Wine Lounge where you can enjoy an expanded selection of wines from around the world. This shaded haven will be the perfect place to relax in between sets, chill with a nice bottle of wine or a cold glass of bubbly and nibble on a delicious bite.
 
AUSTIN KIDDIE LIMITS PRESENTED BY LIFEWAY: Kids 10 and under are welcome to attend ACL Fest for free with a ticketed adult (limit 2 children per ticketed adult), and can enjoy their very own lineup of music and activities at Austin Kiddie Limits presented by Lifeway. With hours from 11am-7pm each day, kids can enjoy activities like hip-hop workshops, dance parties, ping-pong, punk hairdos, temporary airbrush tattoos, an interactive coloring station with HomeAway, souvenir photos in the rock star photo booth and more.
 
Once you’re in the park visit aTag-a-Kid kiosk at the Family Friendly Entrance on Barton Springs Road (entrance closes at 7pm daily) or an Info Tent where parents can register their kids with the festival and receive an RFID wristband. If a child gets lost, we have a reliable and fast way to reunite them with their parent.
 
SHOP AT ACL: The mega-sized ACL Festival Store is back and bigger than ever! Shop in air-conditioned style in our new location south of Barton Springs Road, conveniently next to the Barton Springs East gate. In our quest to provide merchandise that’s a notch-above standard concert-wear, we collaborated with Howler Bros, Camp Collection, Aviator Nation, CamelBak, ENO and YETI on a range of fun, functional and fashion-forward items. The full line of Festival goods will also be available at our Satellite Store on the north side of the park near the American Express stage.

For those who like to plan ahead, we’re offering a brand-new Merch Pick-up service! Beginning Sept. 26, you can pre-purchase our top-selling items online and pick them up at the Festival. Visit store.aclfestival.com for details.
 
 
SILENT DISCO: For those looking to dance the night away, a new Silent Disco powered by Quiet Events has been added to the schedule for both weekends. Each night from 8pm-10pm at the Tito’s Handmade Vodka Stage, fans can slip on a pair of ACL Fest-supplied headphones and quietly groove to tunes from live DJs.

 
ART MARKET: The Art Market is a terrific place to discover Austin’s artists and artisans. From paintings to jewelry and hats to guitar straps, we’ll have it at the Art Market. Feel like stretching your own creative muscles? Austin’s Craft will offer DIY maker projects for artists of all ages. Attendees don’t have to worry about lugging their purchases through the Fest by stashing them in a locker by Barton Springs Road.

IN BETWEEN SETS: Each year ACL Festival engages sponsors to create interactive activities that enhance the patron experience. From to lounges to artist appearances, there is plenty to do in between acts. Check out the full list of this year’s activities at www.aclfestival.com/activities.
 
ARTIST APPEARANCES: Get artist signatures at Waterloo Honda Artist Signing Shack! Visit www.aclfestival.com/schedule for an up-to-date listing. Artists will also be appearing at the Lowe’s Studio throughout both weekends.
 
SUSTAINABILITY:   ACL Festival is committed to sustainable festival practices in the field, behind the scenes and through the preservation of the ever-beautiful Zilker Park. This commitment is integrated into every area of the park, from recycling and composting, to eco-friendly service items at ACL Eats, CamelBak Hydration Stations that provide patrons free, filtered water, while diverting thousands of plastic bottles from the landfill. Even more, festival producers offset the carbon dioxide emissions of festival vehicles, generators, staff and artist travel, by purchasing certified carbon offsets.
 
We invite attendees to join our sustainability efforts by participating in the Rock & Recycle Program, presented by Austin Parks Foundation.   Fans are rewarded for filling one bag of recyclables from the festival grounds with a commemorative ACL Festival T-shirt, live-printed on-site by Industry Print Shop.  Also, check out the Recycling Tour featuring local artists. Each participant also earns a chance to win a Fairdale bike and two 3-day Tickets to ACL Festival 2018!
 
ACL CARES: Select musical, social, environmental and health advocacy causes will have an audience of 75,000 people per day at ACL Festival. Fans can visit the ACL Cares area at Zilker Park to support live music in Austin, register to vote, become a marrow match, protect the environment, contribute to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts, and more.
 
HARVEY RELIEF ACTIVATION POWERED BY ADRN: ACL Festival has partnered with Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) to bring attendees a quick and easy way to donate to Hurricane Harvey Relief while at the festival.  Once you are signed up for ACL Cashless, visit the Austin Disaster Relief Network Harvey Relief Tent at Lou Neff and Barton Springs Road to swipe with your wristband, donate and go!  You can also learn about their response to Hurricane Harvey, volunteer opportunities and more about ADRN’s mission.
 
ACL IS SMOKE FREE: Just a reminder: Zilker Park, along with all of Austin’s parks, is a non-smoking venue.  In observance of the smoking ordinance, all patrons will be directed to smoke outside the festival gates in the street.  Patrons will be allowed to exit and re-enter the festival grounds three times during the event, but they need to scan out upon exiting.  
 
LOST & FOUND: Lose something? Don’t give up. Visit aclfestival.com/lostfound to file a claim or visit an info booth so we can connect you with your items. Find something? Please turn it in at an info booth. After the fest, found item pick-up will take place at Zilker Park on October 9-10 and October 16-17 from 12-6pm.
 
ACL FEST WEEKEND ONE IS LIVE ON RED BULL TV: Fans worldwide who can’t make it to Zilker Park can still enjoy the best of the fest by tuning into Red Bull TV for performances, interviews and exclusive segments. Watch for free online at redbull.tv/aclfest or from any device by using the Red Bull TV app. Live coverage begins Oct 6  2:00pm CT and continues all weekend long.  Selected performance highlights and interviews will be available on demand after the festival.
 
GETTING HOME FROM THE FEST: There are several options for getting home after the fest. For a quick ride downtown, jump on the free Official Festival Shuttle from outside the Barton Springs West Entrance to head to Republic Square Park at 4th and Guadalupe.

Catching a rideshare home? Together with local rideshare companies, the City of Austin has designated a pickup area just outside of ACL Fest. Exit through the Lady Bird Lake Entrance and follow the signs across the Mopac Footbridge to the dedicated ride share pick-up lot.
