Recipe For Anointing Oil In The Bible

Many people want more power off God and want to be able to do signs and wonders but are not prepared to put the hard work into it and not really interested in giving their whole life to Jesus. If you really want to increase your anointing and want to give your whole life for it this article is for you.

One day I was in a new Age bookshop looking at books on spells and on witchcraft and thinking of buying one. This was 17 years ago. Jesus said to my heart. "Get out of here and don't buy a book. You think you are doing research so you can talk to witches better, but you want to cross over and move in their power as you are sick of waiting for my power."

One thing you can say about Jesus is when he makes a point there is not much sense in an argument. I tried to tell Him that He was wrong, and yet how silly is that? Telling Jesus He was wrong.

7 years ago I was looking for the power of the anointing. Today I possess it in a little measure. Not as much as the people on the world stage, but quite a lot more than the average Sunday worshipping Christian. If I was going to boil down what I did to get here down to a few points this is what they are

Become set apart for God

There is not a lot of teaching out there about this, or if there is a lot of teaching, I just don't seem to see it in my travels.

To be set apart for God, you have to have purpose, destiny and vision even though those three seem like the same thing.

Your whole life has to be focused on doing God's will for your life.

Many people are stopped right here as they do not know their purpose on earth and God's will for their life so it is hard to be focused on something that they don't know about.

The will of God for your life is most often what you would love to do for God. If you ask yourself if time and money were no barriers or training was not a barrier what would you like to do for God.

All my life I wanted to be a preacher.

I have only preached 3 times from a pulpit and I am 43. I have wanted to do this for 29 years and all I have to show are 600+ articles/sermons and 400 videos on YouTube. You can see, that I have done a lot and yet I am still not doing what I was destined to do to my full capacity.

Once you find out what you want to do for God, you need to take small steps toward doing it.

Writing my first article was a small step. Getting 200 done was a larger step and passing the 600 mark was more and more. Getting a video camera and doing my first video was a larger step and then doing more and more was more of a step.

I did ten 1 hour teachings and put them on DVD and watched them and was fascinated at how powerfully the Holy Spirit spoke through me.

When you work out what you need to do, when you know the first step, you need to do that.

Secondly a good way to be set apart is to spend your time doing things that have more to do with God and His will in your life and less time doing things that are not Godly. This can mean stopping watching the amount of TV that you do, watching less DVD's and reading less Newspapers and magazines that are full of stuff we don't need to know about.

Spend time in the Word of God, in books that are going to equip you to do God's will in your life and watching edifying videos that will equip YouTube it is possible to spend many hours learning things about God and his purposes.

Another way to bet set apart for God is to be set apart with our money. Finding a way to spend 10% or 20% or higher of our income on good things for God Kingdom that are going to good things and not prosperity teachers is a good way to be set apart.

Obey the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit wants to direct all of us. If you cannot hear the Holy Spirit that can be fixed by going back and doing the last thing you think God told you to do that you did not do. When you obey that last direction you will get your next direction.

Being set apart for God and living out your purpose can only be really done well if you can hear from the Holy Spirit. Make sure that you obey as through obedience to Christ you will grow from the slave Master relationship with Jesus to a point where you are a friend of God and He is directing you and giving you a measure of His power and anointing.

God wants to be able to trust you with His power and anointing. For this power and anointing to drop in you therefore you need to and be:

- Know your purpose

- Know each step the Holy Spirit is giving you and doing it.

- Be only interested in serving God and not the world or your own passions.

- Be trustworthy with real power

- Have a good record of doing what you are told to do by God.

I hope this has helped you. My prayers are with you.

Matthew Robert Payne

PS One very big key ingredient to a strong anointing that no one likes doing is time spent in prayer. Until you love the Lord enough to spend a lot of time with Him you will not walk in strong power.

Anointing Oil In The Bible

Are you looking for spiritual health? Here is a unique way that many have found helpful: anointing yourself with essential oils on a daily basis. Using essential oils will help to open you to the possibility of receiving God's favor-God's healing grace in your life. This kind of anointing is more than just putting oils into your bath water and allowing the aroma to release your negativity and open you to unconditional love. It is more than diffusing an essential oil into the room to create a sacred healing environment. And it is more than burning incense to lift up your spirit to the high places. Sacred fragrances are an honoring of the gift of God present in your daily life. God has blessed the earth with all kinds of plants for your use. When you take the very essence of the plants, the essential oils, and breathe them, rub them on your body or take them within, you are accepting the gift of blessing from God. It is through this kind of anointing that  is a reminder that God has placed a mark upon your heart.

Today those on a spiritual path recognize the healing properties of oil and create their own spiritual rituals for themselves and their families, anointing their bodies with these healing substances.

Some Modern Ways of Anointing

  1. Anoint the energy centers like the brow or throat or heart as you call upon God to bless yourself or someone else with health and well-being. Some wonderful fragrances include balsam, neroli, frankincense or blends like Joy, Harmony and Abundance.

  2. Anoint and clear your meditation space and your healing space with oils. Any of the tree oils are good for this but especially balsam, sandalwood, and frankincense. Also blends like Awaken, Inspiration and Grounding.

  3. For massage therapists, incorporate the use of essential oils in massaging the body. Relaxing oils would be helpful like lavender, Roman Chamomile or blends like Peace and Calming.

  4. Anoint the linens, table and room before a healing session begins. One word of caution--make sure you are not using an oil that stains.

  5. Anoint the client's body, blessing and respecting the sacredness of the person. I particularly like to use blends here. Harmony, Valor, Joy or White Angelica.

  6. Diffuse a healing oil to cleanse and anoint the client's aura. Use light fragrances like lemon, orange, grapefruit, or bergamot.

  7. Anoint bath water. Are you in need of relaxation ro energy? Lavender, Roman Chamomile, or neroli might be just what you need. If its energyzing that you need, go for pine, rosemary, or juniper.

Bible Anointing Oil Dosage

Very good question! We actually don't know which oils Jesus and his disciples specifically used-but this we do know-they were not using their cooking oils or their lamp oils to anoint for healing. In other words-they were not anointing with olive oil alone. More than likely they were using a healing oil which may have been within a carrier oil such as olive.

What Essential Oils Were Available and Used in Biblical Times?

The Bible actually refers to thirty-five different botanical plants by name. Some were used primarily for incense but many others were crudely distilled by several different methods and used for healing the body. They were rubbed or smeared on the body, poured on the body or may have been sprinkled on the body.

The more popular oils that would have been commonly available at the time of Jesus include myrrh, frankincense, balsam, sandalwood (called aloes at that time-no relation to aloe vera), cypress, hyssop, spikenard, cinnamon, cassia, calamus among others. These would have constituted their "medicine cabinet" much like we might have aspirin and other remedies in our medicine chest.

Since these oils were just as expensive in Biblical times as they are now, how do you suppose Jesus and his disciples were able to afford them? The early Christian writings give us some insight-"The women saw to the needs of the ministry." You might interpret this as the women seeing to the disciple's physical needs like cooking and providing a place for the disciples to stay. Or as this writer feels-they made sure all the disciples had these expensive anointing oils for the ministry.

Recipe For Anointing Oil In The Bible

The government of the church by the anointing. What a foreign thought to us today! That's because very early there was a major departure from the Scriptural way. And, loving status quo as we do, Christians everywhere feel that they are viewing the norm when they look at their particular way of doing things.

Well, God is merciful. Israel wanted a king, and God, after protesting, gave them one. Eventually this decision led to great men like David, Hezekiah and Josiah, far from lightweights in God's eyes. God has blessed our system too, and produced many "men of God" in spite of our fear of being humanly leaderless (which echoes Israel's fear.)

Scripture indicates that various forms of administration may be permissible. It seems to me that a huge anointing would be released to the people of God if the leadership of a local congregation were shared. If the elders would take their place. If the gifts of the Spirit were taught, sought, and encouraged.

While I'm speaking of "the anointing", let me say a word about "touching God's anointed". This is a Biblical phrase that originated from the mouth of God in reference to His chosen people Israel. As to "the anointing" itself, in the Old Testament a whole host of things was said to be anointed: the tabernacle, all its furniture, the priests, all the priests' clothing, etc. For, far from being a holy word in itself, to "anoint" merely means to rub with oil.

Of course we Christians understand that oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit. And in the Greek word "crio" from which we derive the word "Christ", we understand the Holy Spirit's purpose is to rub us all with Himself through the man Jesus.

Did you know that after Christ came into the world, that is, in all the New Testament writings, no other individual is called anointed again? The church, yes. "Special" members of the church? No!

II Corinthians 1:21, God has anointed US in Christ.

I John 2:27, you (plural) have an anointing. That anointing teaches you everything...

The deceiver can't deceive us, because when a teacher teaches, the anointing tells us whether he is teaching the truth. A true teacher can only confirm what we already know in Christ.

So let's be careful of singling certain people out, saying "Wow! What an anointing!" The anointing is in Jesus, Jesus is in YOU! And the same Spirit in you, God will release in abundance to His Church when they recognize without hypocrisy the headship of Jesus.

Yes, there is only one "Anointed One" we need to worry about touching today. His name is Jesus, but He lives in all those who are His. Don't touch God's anointed.

No man has a monopoly on that anointing. Never is submission to one man mentioned in the New Testament. This one-man thing was created by human tradition and sustained by strong men. Since God did not ordain such, I cannot recognize the preeminence of one man in the congregation, though I might recognize his position in Christ and respect him as a brother.

Paul tells me that the head of every man is Christ. Does that relationship stop when I leave my home, the context of which Paul speaks, and enter the assembly of the believers? Absolutely not! Christ is still my head, and I filter all commands and directives and teachings through that Lordship of Christ. I do NOT suddenly turn Christ off so I can turn a mere man on.

There must indeed be leadership in the church. The leaders are a group of men submerged in the Holy Ghost, who call others to obey Jesus, not themselves. They are men who are laying their lives down for the flock, not beating it. They are near-invisible men who are most honored by all.

God has already shown His people that His system of plural leadership works. It's recorded. Recorded also is the sad history of churches totally controlled by the "clergy", a group separate and apart from the "laity." In these churches is often great pain. It is the pain of a wife who has been ridiculed, or ignored, or abused in some other way.

When wives sense that the marriage relationship is not being honored properly, reactions can be violent. That violence can be suppressed by the husband with anger and demands for obedience and questioning of loyalty, or...silenced with an understanding hug.

The church, with all its faults, seems to be awaiting a hug. Submission is much easier after the leaders make the people realize they truly understand, and that they are one with us, not "a cut above."

Suppressed Christians who have gifts from God are liable to be looking for other fellowships where their gift can be expressed. When all the "gifted"ones go, the "remnant" is a group fiercely loyal to a man. Very little fruit can be produced in a situation like this, yet this scene is repeated throughout our land.

How can you tell if your church is controlled by a dictatorial clergy-laity philosophy? A former pastor of the Philadelphia Church in Chicago has come up with a description of the dictator spirit.

1. attitude of lording (as opposed to leading)

2. gains "dominion" over people's lives

3. strong-willed and unyielding (instead of gentle, open-minded)

4. spreads "awe" or fear of himself among the people

5. non-submissive to other leadership

6. overconfidence in himself

7. looks for private "words" to direct flock, ignores Spirit in other leaders

8. makes major decisions without seeking and hearing counsel

9. uses elders as "sounding board" to make up his mind, rather than seeking the mind of God through the collective leadership

10. forces final decisions before the answer is generally clear

11. requires weakness under him. must be "man on top"

12. intimidates others, suppresses body ministry

13. over-disciplinarian tendencies, instead of love and patience

Godly leadership is the most difficult place of all in the Body, contrary to the perceived notion. A true leader is first in line for the executioner's sword.

What do we mean when we use the word "anointing" in reference to essential oils? Throughout history, people have created ceremonies and rituals to celebrate, bless and heal. Anointing meant they would touch with oil an individual, group, sacred objects or even their homes to signify a sacred connection to God was being made. It was a way of recognizing the coming together of the physical world and the spiritual world. Oil, specifically essential oils, became a symbol of the healing power of the Divine breaking through into the lives of people. It was a sign of a unique blessing from God that was at the same time healing and sustaining.

There are hundreds of references to the use of aromatic essential oils and incense in our Judeo-Christian Scriptures and by some accounts there are over a 1,000 references. However these references usually point to religious worship or to ceremonies such as anointing of kings, or to burial and embalming. Healing oils and fragrances were simply part of their practice for honoring God as well as a part of ordinary daily life. In the Jewish scriptural texts there are numerous prescriptions for treating the body and treating the people collectively with healing oils and fragrant incense.

What Were the Different Ways they Used to Anoint in the Scriptures?

The word 'anoint' in Hebrew is mãsah and it properly means "to rub or stroke with the hand" (Lev. 2:4). Literally, they would rub or smear the head or body with oil primarily for healing or health. The objects of worship however were anointed by "sprinkling" nzh (Lev. 8:11). And the high priest was anointed at his installation by pouring, yãsaq, the holy oil on his head (Lev. 8:12). The effects of all this anointing was to make them holy--to consecrate unto the Lord. But it also confers on the priest a particular character--the quality of 'being holy' that could be transmitted to others through contact.

Anointing for the kings was a very significant ritual for the whole people of God. The royal unction conferred a special character on the king as "Yahweh's Anointed." The king thus became closely approximated to God. Since all life derives from the divine breath, so the king is the breath of life to his people. It is interesting to note that the Hebrew word mãsah is also the root of the term "Messiah." The New Testament was not written in Hebrew but in Greek. In Greek, the term that was used to refer to Jesus was "Kristos," or "Christ," which means "the anointed one."

Anointing was also for healing in biblical times. It was used for soothing of wounds and referred to in other books like the Apocalypse of Moses as an "oil of mercy" and as a cure for every kind of illness. The idea that oil conferred health and well-being is the significance of a rite in the cleansing of the leper found in Lev 14:15-18. This is not a purification rite but the conveying of life as is suggested by the anointing of the head. The entire rite indicates that the formerly ostracized person is now accepted once more into the life of society. This is such an interesting account for if you know anything about the Vita-Flex points in the body, these three are significant. The priest was to put some of the cedarwood oil on the tip of the right ear-a reflex point to release guilt. Then he put the oil on the thumb of the right hand and the big toe on the right foot which are both reflex points for the brain and pineal gland-the center of the body's communication systems and the place where emotional memory is stored.

Oil in the biblical texts appears fundamentally as a source of strength, vitality and life. Anointing someone with an essential oil paid the person great honor. So it was spoken of as bringing joy and gladness to festive occasions. And in sacred contexts, anointing with an aromatic essential oil acquired the weight of theology and of holiness. Educational courses that are Christian-based can help us reclaim our rightful role in healing and anointing one another. Such a program exists and is taught throughout the United States.

Whats the Bible Scripture For Healing Oil?

The sight of a pastor or a priest anointing a member of their congregation is a pretty common one, but not always one that new members to the fold can understand. Anointing CBD oil in Illinois is much more than a new, stylish kind of facial moisturizer! Here is a quick peek at the true meaning of anointing and anointing oils, and how they are used in the family of God.

What Does It Mean to be Anointed?

Before one can understand the symbolism of Biblical Anointing oils used for anointing they would have to first understand what it means to be anointed. Someone who is anointed has been set apart, made different from those around them in the eyes of God. Abba Anointing Oil had perhaps the best definition of what it truly means to be anointed on the web:

“To be “anointed” is, among other things, to be made sacred (consecrated); to be set apart and dedicated to serve God; to be endowed with enabling gifts and grace; to be divinely designated, inaugurated, or chosen for some purpose.”

The Power Of Anointing Oil In The Bible

The words “anointed” and “anointing” appear often in the Bible.

Mark 6:13 “And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.”

Hebrews 1:9 “Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.”

Anointing Oils

There are many different kinds of anointing oils in Illinois, and which is used is usually determined by the church, temple or synagogue that is performing the ceremony or invocation. The first anointing oil in the Bible was found in Exodus, when the Lord ordered Moses to make a holy anointing oil of the finest spices, including flowing myrrh, sweet-smelling cinnamon, fragrant cane, cassia and olive oil. This oil was used by the priests in the temple. Today anointing oils are made of similar ingredients; one recipe calls for an oil to be made of olive oil, salt, sugar, allspice seeds, whole cloves, myrrh or frankincense.

How Anointing Oils are Used in Illinois

The Biblical Anointing oils are used for a number of different purposes but serve as a symbolic representation of our faith that Christ will answer our prayers through divine intervention. Oil used for anointing is often used when praying for the needs of a specific individual to show that the church is placing their faith in Christ to address that need. Oils are also used during burial, in preparing weapons for war and for their calming influences.

Biblical Anointing oils are a vital part of the church and its rituals, and they spread across many cultures. To learn more about the practice of anointing in your church, speak to your pastor, rabbi or priest. They will be happy to answer your questions and set your feet on the path to greater understanding.

Recipe For Anointing Oil In The Bible

The Gospels tell us that the apostles and the disciples were sent out to various towns and villages to lay-on hands and anoint the people, curing all of their illnesses. Now he told them not to bother with those who did not accept their message or who resisted them. Obviously, those people missed an opportunity for their own physical and spiritual healing. Go, he said to those who accept and welcome you. You can help them. There's an important lessen in this for all of us who believe that many blessings can be bestowed through the gift of essential oils.

"Then Jesus summoned his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to cure every disease and every sickness... [Then he sent them out] Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons... Whatever town or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you leave. As you enter the house, greet it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave that house or town." Matt. 10:1,8,11-14.

The scriptures do not tell us how successful their efforts were but we can guess they were highly successful due to the popularity of Jesus' ministry. One might only guess why Jesus sent the disciples out without him. Was it for a little hands-on experience? To boost their courage? To see what they could do without him? Regardless of the reasons, the disciples came back full of positive energy and regard for the work. They did not doubt in the power of God and when their efforts were not successful, they did not cease their efforts.

So Are We as Christians Meant to Anoint Others for Healing with Essential Oils Today?

Absolutely-that was Jesus' directive to his disciples. Nowhere in the scriptures does it say only the initial disciples were to heal with these precious oils-they were suppose to teach the next generations. Neither do we find in the scriptures any indication that only the "guys" were sent out to heal and anoint-Jesus sent the disciples out and among the disciples were many women. Rules regarding who could anoint came much later in our history and have stuck to this very day.

The Power Of Anointing Oil In The Bible

It's a subject on many people's minds but the anointing comes at a price. God doesn't just give His anointing away easily and when we have it God wants us to use it. The Anointing has increased in my life and so has the responsibility. Here is a simple article as to why God would increase your anointing.

I bought a book once by Benny Hinn on the Anointing and I bought it as I wanted to learn about it and have it in my life. I might not have been ready to receive the information and have since given the book away but when I read it, I didn't seem to learn anything.

I once heard a guy that come to a church I was attending and he talked about the anointing. He said something simple. He said:

The Anointing is simply: The Power to Do the Job

Now depending on how BIG the job you have to do is, that measures how much of the Holy Spirit's anointing is in your life. I have realized in the past three months the Anointing in my life has gone up.

Each week 2000 people read something I have written in the Internet on EzineArticles or somewhere else. There is an Anointing of the Holy Spirit on everything I write and there exists and Anointing in my life as I write the things that I write.

I also manage a team of prophetic people and we do free prophecies on the Internet. For a few years they came in at a rate of about twenty requests per week and now in the last three months that figure has shot up to forty five requests per week.

With this increase I have had to promote a team leader and mentor her to run a team of prophets like me to cater to this demand. In these three months I have noticed the Holy Spirit has increased my Anointing in my life.

I am finding people I know want to sit down and have a long chat with me in the past few months. As a prophet I am fairly intense and people kind of give me a wide birth and yet some of the people I have forged a relationship with are starting to want to spend quality time with me.

This is a sign to me that they really want to hear what the Holy Spirit wants to say through me. As now quite a lot these days in an hour conversation the Holy Spirit directs the conversation for me to say what God wants me to say to each person.

When you understand that the Anointing is the Power to Do the Job you have to decide to get busy for God for Him to increase the Anointing in your life. For God to increase His Anointing in your life there has to be a reason, so first of all if you want it to increase you need to decide what you want to do for God in a bigger way and go after it.

It's wonderful to have the presence of God and when you worship you can feel the presence of God. But it's quite another thing for the Anointing of God to come upon you when you are in a conversation and the person that is listening is so transfixed at what is being shared they simply can't leave until the message is shared in its entirety.

Now the Holy Spirit of God knows every persons timetable and if they have to really go and get back to work or if they can take and extra half an hour for lunch to listen. The Holy Spirit knows when that certain person who really needs to hear what He has to say through you is going to have the time and the Anointing will only drop on you the time that they need to stay.

I have heard people say the Anointing is addictive. Benny Hinn seems to talk about the Anointing a lot as I have heard him talk about it. It is simply the power of the Holy Spirit and it should be respected and not talked about in any cheap way. But I have heard on a few occasions people say the Anointing is addictive.

I can testify when I sit down to prophesy over a person that I really enjoy God speaking though me and I love the wonderful peaceful blanket that seems to come all over me.

But we all have the Holy Spirit and it is my aim to speak to you if you don't know much of the Power of God to get a bit of that into your life. If you want more of the Holy Spirit, why don't you get serious with God and ask Him what can you do for Him

I know that we need people to prophesy on our teams on my website and I know that we can pray for you to get the gift of prophecy. I know also that we need intercessors on our website that can pray over the prophecies that are done and if you are good in prayer, then we can use you.

But that's just me throwing a few ideas out there for you. I am sure if you put your mind to it you can come up with something to do for the body of Christ.

Just remember you have to get busy for God for Him to give you the Power.

It's no use having a Powerful car in a garage. It's no use God increasing the Power of His Anointing of His in your life if you are not going to do a job for Him.

Want a really big Anointing? Get a very BIG job to do for the Lord and He will give it to you!

I promise you

Love ya

Be blessed
